Wolverine — How did he become Logan and his Canadian Roots

Wolverine’s origin story is a crucial part of his character development and has been explored in various comics and media adaptations. The following is a summary of Wolverine’s origin story as depicted in the Marvel Comics continuity:

Wolverine, whose real name is James Howlett, was born in the 19th century in Alberta, Canada. He grew up as a sickly and frail child in a wealthy family. His mutation, which granted him his unique abilities, manifested at a young age. James discovered that he had bone claws that would extend from the back of his hands, along with a regenerative healing factor that allowed him to recover from injuries quickly.

One tragic event that shaped Wolverine’s life was witnessing the death of his biological father, who was killed by the groundskeeper Thomas Logan. In a fit of rage, James’s mutant powers fully manifested, and he attacked and killed Thomas Logan. This incident led to James and his childhood friend, Rose, fleeing the family estate.

Taking on the name “Logan” and living as a drifter, he eventually ended up in the Canadian wilderness. There, he encountered a group of people known as the Hudson Bay Company, which included a young mutant named Victor Creed, later known as Sabretooth. Logan and Creed became friends and served together in several wars, including World War I and World War II.
